Posting a teeth question on bhehalf of someone else in UK

so a friend of mine in UK has this lion lop, she wants to remove the front 2 top teeth and the bottom one. Because her bun "oakleys missing one of his bottom teeth the 2 top ones had like little fangs growing either side and the bottom one was badly slanted"

so is the best course of action is to remove the remaining 3?

Hi my bunny oakley only has 3 insisors, 2 top ones that would be good if one bottom one wasnt completely missing and the one next to it wasnt a tiny stump, please advise me what I should do. I have been taking him to the vets to have them filed as obviously the top ones arnt grinding because of his bottom teeth

I am assuming that your friend is not intending to remove the teeth herself

If the Incisors are maloccluded then generally speaking it is better to have a Vet remove them. Skull radiographs should be taken first to assess the tooth roots and the molar teeth should also be thoroughly examined.

How old is the Bunny ? If under a year then it could be that the Incisor problem is congenital (genetic) in origin as opposed to acquired (due to a poor diet). If it is a genetic problem then the Rabbit should never be used for Breeding.

Rabbits cope well without their Incisors so this would be the best option as it must be stressful for him to keep having them filed.

Thankyou I didnt want to have to put him through having them removed but I guess the sooner we have it done the quicker he can adjust. What about chances of infection or chocking

her bun is 3 yr. old. That front teeth is rip out, most likely due to chewing on something and his tooth get stuck, and I'm guessing he then walk backward and thus break the tooth w/ the root damage

Has the Bunny been examined by a Vet ? Without skull radiographs it's impossible to say if removal of the Incisors would be the best course of action x
