Rabbits currently at the vets having not eaten for c. 9hrs yesterday,

Vets can't get a drip on her or feed her by syringe because she's an absolute nightmare with people (we can only touch or stroke when she's being fed... we have odd rabbits), they are giving her pain relief & some meds to help her gut get moving though to try and help, and have felt her stomach / done a health check to make sure there's nothing obvious causing the issue.

Sounds like it's a case of wait and see for the remainder of the morning/early afternoon, then consider taking the other bun in with some other familiar items to see if that settles her.

They have suggested General anaesthetic as a last resort (probably tomorrow?) if she hasn't got any better, so they can give her fluids and some nutritients.

Hopefully she gets better soon!

Poor girlie The fact she is putting up a fight is actually good news. It would be very worrying if a normally feisty Rabbit were to be very compliant and handleable. Her gut stasis may be a secondary symptom of Dental problems and by the sounds of it the only way the Vet will be able to get a good look in her mouth is to sedate her.

I hope that she responds to the treatment being given x

They did manage to get a look in her mouth and said it appeared to be fine without any rubbing against cheeks etc. So that doesn't seem to be an issue,

She's just not the easiest for the other things they'd ideally treat her with!

Had update from vet.

We have food eaten (bits of broccoli and grass), and more importantly we've got poo.

Signs looking good. They're going to keep her overnight to keep an eye on her and make sure she's still OK before we bring her back.

She's home! Looks aware, eating and pooing.

Vets have three requests which I want to get clarification on here.

1. We have to administer Emeprid. Fine but she's a phenomenally feisty rabbit. She will kick us until we drop her or let her go. The vets even struggled and their professionals... We will try, but is this absolutely necessary that she gets doses of this? It'll be very stressful for her

2. Another vet trip on Monday - again given the stress this will cause, if she's all good, pooing eating etc, is it worthwhile? Or just catch up by phone for sign off

3. Monitor her poo... Hard. We have two rabbits. My thought is we clean the hutch in the morning of poo, lock her in there and leave other bun to garden for an hour or so to check poo, and do this two or 3 times a day? Does that seem reasonable?

We will try, but is this absolutely necessary that she gets doses of this? It'll be very stressful for her IMO it is essential to follow Veterinary advice and continue the Emeprid. You could try disguising it in some of her favorite food or on a treat like a bite sized shredded wheat or a Malted Shreddie. Or in some grated up carrot and apple.

2. Another vet trip on Monday - again given the stress this will cause, if she's all good, pooing eating etc, is it worthwhile? Or just catch up by phone for sign off- If her input and output is 100% normal on Monday you could call the Vet and ask if she really needs to be fully examined again as stress of the journey may set her back.

3. Monitor her poo... Hard. We have two rabbits. My thought is we clean the hutch in the morning of poo, lock her in there and leave other bun to garden for an hour or so to check poo, and do this two or 3 times a day? Does that seem reasonable? If you alter her daily routine this may stress her out. Also, exercise will help promote gut motility so if you shut one Rabbit in I'd make it the other Rabbit.

Thanks. We've just put it on her food to good effect. Appreciate that advice.

Regarding exercise the idea of keeping her in was to monitor her poos solely.

She'll still get good exercise ☺ but the vet did advise against exercise (oddly?)
