Carrier recommendations for single old bun

Hi everyone!

I haven't been around in a while but am looking for some recommendations and thought of here.

We lost our Tango last year aged 9 and a half, leaving my house bun Finx alone. Tried her with my other pair but the bond didn't go well so for now she is living single inside with us (which makes me sad but is another subject!)

I'm now looking for a little carrier for vet trips as she's sliding around our large one without Tango to lean on and I'm worried about her arthritis, but all I can find are those little pod ones that look better suited to guinea pigs, or other standard ones that aren't much smaller than what I have now!

Any ideas?

I use carriers like these for single rabbits. Anything cat-size will do. Top opening can be useful, as you can examine the animal in the carrier if needed. It also means you can put them in the top if they are reluctant to go in the front door. For rabbits, I put in a few layers of newspaper and then make a nest of hay. It stops them sliding around and keeps them warm and comfortable. The newspaper makes it easier to clean out. There used to some cheaper ones from one of the big online pet suppliers, but I can't find it today. This is the Argos top loading medium pet carrier (code 717/4829) - just in case the link doesn't work...

Lopsy came with the basic RAC small pet carrier and I wouldn't recommend it as it's front-opening only, but size-wise it'd be perfect with a rolled up small towel down each side :)

Hi, not sure about carrier recommendations but I’d say try putting a blanket or two inside and rolling the edges up to make the rabbit few more secure and supported. This should let her slip around less. Also, regarding the open top carriers just be careful in making sure you look for good quality ones with secure openings, as I’ve heard horror stories of the top panel opening and the rabbit escaping. But these are great if they are good quality.
