  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Teeth issue

Pips back at home! She's had her front teeth burred and her back teeth checked.

Back teeth were perfect, so not the cause, also no signs of disease etc. So we don't know why they misaligned. One vet suggested age, but she's only 4. So I'm not convinced by that.

We've got a free dental checkup booked for 6 weeks. We're hoping they will grow straight again and wear naturally.

She's currently scoffing her pellets and acting like a normal Pip. I think Archie was more traumatized.

Thanks for all your support.
dear mervinius,-please view this link http://www.medirabbit.com rabbits are consummate chewers, their teeth are constantly growing-[1-3mm-per week]--a diet of less than 70% grasses will allow teeth to be overgrown or misalign[overtime]-.when rabbits choose softer foods-ie.pellets-that is indication of teeth/mouth problems,..-the link is very informative and one to live by.--sincerely james waller from the other kent-usa

Pips doing better today. Her poops have got bigger. They were small yesterday after her vet visit.

They are both munching away and have covered the house in poop to reclaim it as theirs. Oh and we have some new wee patches. But I don't care because she's ok.

She's says thank yoy for thinking of her and sending vibes. She appreciates it.
