Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

I'm sorry to hear that Pupernickle has Lymphoma and can understand your concern. However, it's wonderful that she is able to have chemotherapy and excellent that the Oncologist is pleased with her progress. Sending her lots of vibes that she continues to improve.

So sorry to that your cat has lymphoma James, but very pleased to hear that she is responding positively to the chemo. I hope that she continues to do well, kitty cats are very special aren't they ? sending her lots of vibes x

I am sorry to hear of Pumpernickle's diagnosis but it sounds as though she is already responding well to the chemotherapy. I hope that she will continue to do so. Sending special vibes for her, over the pond to the other Kent in the USA

pupernickle

special thanks to all -it does help to relieve some of the distress,-at first when one gets the news-it is absolutely devastating,-reguardless how strong one is- being emotional attatched to our babies [news]-can be devastating..--yes,pupernickle:love: is responding well-to treatment,-that is always good..[stress relief]---I have no medical degree but my experience in the exotic, avaian field-gives me some practical knowledge of diseases,-but I have never dealt with cancer with-any of my animals--,but there is renewed hope.--feeling the vibes-thank you deeply for all of you-,financially I believe it is do-able--that was the big problem..--sincerely james waller from the other kent-usa:love::wave::love:

Knowledge of avian problems is always useful, not many vets specialise in it .My wee Echo budgie had scaly face (mites) thankfully one of the vets in my practice loves and keeps budgies herself ,so treatment of three doses of Ivermectin over six weeks put paid to the wee pests, his wee beak and cere clean .

dear kattymieoww,-thank you [yes]-experience is gained, like your echo-problem with feather mites-[Ivermectin]-you have gained valuable insight- to the problem..--most of my homer pigeons are over 15 years old,.--one beautiful white one had lost alot of feathers on her chest a few years ago,-I used advantage-[Imidacloprid]-to treat her,and like magic new feathers sprouted.--she still lays eggs[unfertilized]--which I think is remarkable-at her age,-,her mate may be unfertile,or not male.--I like this product because it was universal for rabbits, pigeons, and feline.--knowledge,experience are invaluable.--retaining it is a bit complex at my old age.--sincerely james waller from the other kent-usa

Best wishes James, for you and Pumpernickel (great name ).
dear keletkezes,-thank you,-she was the runt of the litter-so I called her peewee,then one day I added pumpernickel-so that stuck.-she is-9-1/2 yr.old,long hair,short legged,calico.--we have 9 cats altogether,some we have spent enormous $$,on medical.-most over 10 yr.now.-all precious.-sincerely james waller from the other kent-usa

pumpernickle-update

dear rabbits united members,--pumpernickel:love: [yesterday]-passed the blood test for the next cancer pill-[which was administered]-no knowledge of these proceedures so it seems odd that one has to be approved for another pill.--sincerely james waller from the other kent-usa:love::wave:

I know from personal experience that you need to have a blood test prior to each dose of chemotherapy. This is to check the different levels of the components of the blood, in particular white cell count. They would delay giving the chemotherapy if the blood result showed an unsatisfactory level of white cell count, maybe waiting just one more week for it to come back to the required level.

Sending more vibes for Pumpernickel.

Feel free to do so, it can really help to 'talk' with your cyber friends :) My PM Box is always open to you if you'd like a chat with Jane from quite near to the other Kent in the UK  Is Pumpernickle related to Momakitty ? Genetics play a big part in how any cancer responds to chemotherapy, which is why this is such encouraging news

Topping up the vibes for Pumpernickle
