Default My amazing Doughnut has gone, I've just put her to sleep

I am absolutely heartbroken but she didn't want to eat and I think she may have fell over in the night and couldn't get up. She dropped down to 750g from 950g in a week. My specialist thought it was time too before she started suffering.

He was so lovely. Told me I was the most amazing owner and she was the most amazing bunny by living so long and a fighter but thought she didn't want to fight any more. I also thought that. I know it's the right decision, she was so underweight and forcing food into her to keep her going isn't fair. She did nibble her twigs and herbs this morning but wouldn't eat her dual care.

I don't know how I will cope not seeing that little face every day, hopefully it will get easier.

I'm so sorry to read your news and know only too well what you are going through.

It's good however to see that you are at peace with your decision and that you, guided by your specialist, knew when the time was right. I know that given she needed such a lot of hands-on care the loss will be felt all the more. I hope knowing you did her proud will help you come to terms with the loss.

Oh my goodness I am so, so sorry Without you Doughnut would have passed away years ago. You fought to get her a proper diagnosis and appropriate treatment. Now you have given her one final gift of love. To allow her a peaceful passing in the full knowledge that it was 'her time', even though your heart must be breaking having had to do so xx

RIP Doughnut, I will certainly never forget you and I am sure your Special Vet wont either. I think you were his favorite Bunny patient
