  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Any advice on Protexin Pro Fibre pellets?

Toasty123

Has anyone tried these type of pellets on their buns? I'm thinking of adding it to Toast's diet, as I want to up his fibre. I've noticed that fibreplex is helping his poops increase a bit more and get bigger. As they are quite expensive for everyday...I'm thinking of purchasing the Protexin Pro Fibre Pellets from amazon, does anyone have any experience with these and does it contain the live yeast?
Can any moderator please move this thread to Diet & Digestion? I think it's probably best suited there! Thanks in advance.

I use them one scoop per bunny a day whole recovering from stasis. They seem to enjoy them but I don't know what is in it. Much cheaper than fibreplex tho!

I have used these too for my bunny Treacle. She is a dental bun, and never been a great hay eater. Yes I just mix with her nuggets, I think it states on the container it is to be used as a supplement.

Thanks Pets mum, where do you buy yours from?

Amazon sell them, or my vets will order them in for me. Think Viovet do them too. Make sure you get the rabbit only one, as they do them for dogs and cats too.
