Idk.. But I think unnecessary

I've gone for 'no clue', because I think it's one of those things people talk about being harmful with no evidence. That said, there could definitely be evidence that I'm not aware of.
I went with Harmful unless the Bunny in Question is on a No Pellet Diet, A good pellet will provide the salt, vitamins and minerals needed. The varied greens would provide the rest.
This bit is not bunny related but Pets in the past (Chinchilla) have had salt or mineral licks in the cages and they went untouched for months. One day they finished it in a single go. Then had imbalances and issues relating to water retention, kidney and liver issues
I'd rather not chance it and go with Pumice
dear joey&boo,-my rabbits enjoied the salt lick,it was a 1kg block,it was red-with,vitamins,minerals..--as a choice I would have to lean toward necessary, unless advised otherwise.--sincerely james waller from the other kent-usaHarmful or harmless?
Thanks for all your replies.
Has anyone discussed with their vet? - I've not as I don't think I've ever used them so it's not come up. There is a calcium case study on RWA where there is talk of sprinkling salt on bunnies veg. That makes me nervous, I think more cos there is less choice, but then some bunnies don't always eat whats good for them anyway.
FHB mentioned the mineral lick blocks at one of her lecture days (or was it on the website). I remember her being dismissive but I don't remember if she threw her hands up in horror or just considered them a waste of money.
