Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

overweight bun

New Kit
hello,
i am looking for some advice for dieting my bun. i have 3 house rabbits (Netherland dwarfs) who live in a large enclosure during the day and have the run of my house while i'm home and able to supervise. all 3 rabbits live together eat from the same bowls, hay racks and have access to the same greens.
i am a little concerned as one of my rabbits seems to be far chubbier than the other two. i am not worried about the other two's weight (eg that they're not eating enough) but rather looking for advice on how to diet my overweight rabbit without restricting the other twos eating.

any help, advice and information would be much appreciated
thanks
k :)

Hello, and welcome to the forum  Can you tell us what you are feeding the bunnies and in particular volume of pellets, greens and other veg etc? Could it be the chubbier one is eating all the pellets?

If your bunnies have any nuggets as part of their diet I'd try separating your chubby bunny from the other two when these are fed. I have one boy who carries extra holiday weight all year round, he just seems to metabolise food more slowly
