Greetings, fellow bunny fanciers

Hello, everyone.

I am new at this forum, and I really hope it is still active.

This is a UK forum, if I understand correctly, focussed (but I believe certainly not exclusively meant for) on the UK (I mean bunny vets and organisations-wise. All else is universally applicable). I am not currently a UK resident (though it is a plan of mine to become one in the next 5 years--if I can find my line of work there, Brexit notwithstanding), but where I am located, there are no rabbit organisations such as in the UK and USA, and the rabbit vet situation is abysmal, I mean ABYSMAL. The vets here specialise in cattle and dogs/cats. When it comes to any other animal, it comes down to 2 (!!!!) vets in the whole country who have ever had a modicum of professional experience with rabbits (honestly, I have no idea how people who have parrots find a helpline here, if rabbits are seen as 'exotic animals'. There are no forums for rabbit fanciers (I am not inclined to say ''owners'', as I am not a cattle baron) here, no organisation in real life dedicated to it (there are now a few animal sanctuaries here not limited to the buns, but all animals used for meat/diary/fur that gladden my heart; alas, they are not located anywhere near me, nor can I afford to support them any more than minimally on a financial level). There are a few closed Facebook groups I wot of from the brif time I was on there, but I no longer am interested in social media, so I have no account and no access to that. Otherwise, this is a very closed society, with a ''you're on your own'' mindset about everything, and health care is available only to those who belong to the upper echelons of society; same goes for vets.

Welcome to the forum. You’re right the majority of members are based in th UK but we share our rabbit knowledge, experiences and friendship worldwide.

Welcome to the forum, I hope you find lots of useful information here, should you need it. We love hearing all about members bunnies too :D

Thank you very much! I am so happy to find a helpful community of rabbit slaves here :p I am surprised to see how active this forum is, and chuffed!

I am happy this is UK-based, as I plan to move to what has always felt my spiritual and cultural home in the next 5 years--if I can find employment there, being disabled. It's not just a dream; I've got concrete plans, but the Brexit thing scares me, not only because of the immigration policy becoming stricter, but because of taking Livvy with me--so far, rabbits, as long as they were from the EU, did not have to stay in quarantine, or so I read--now, as the UK is leaving EU, I fear this will change, too. There is no way in heaven that Livvy is not going with me wherever I go--especially because I see there is a lovely rabbit people community there, and--for the most parts--I read you've got educated and caring vets, and where I am, there are no such things.
