Good evening, I'm new to this forum, this is my first post.

I came home to my bunny after work today, and noticed that he had some bald patches on his bum. I hae no idea what caused it. I am planning on taking him to the vet tomorrow, but I am worried about him as I don't know what caused it. Does anybody perhaps have any ideas?

dear tinkerbell123,-welcome to rabbits united,--thank you for the pictures,--even though I donot see fleas,or their poops,--something is definitely causing the bun to chew on his back side--hopefully you are not bathing him??--good that you have a vet appointment tomarrow--they will be able to better diagnose the problem and advise..--there will be others to weigh in on your post--it does require attention..--sincerely james waller from across the great pond-usa
 
Hi. Pleased you have a vets app. I think its the last image that looks like it could be a bite to me. Does your bunny live with a friend?

I'm sorry your bun isn't well. I would also say it looks like the last picture is a bite. As Joey&boo said, does he have a partner? If so do both normally get along well and are they both neutered? Any sings of excessive grooming? When you're out are they confined to a small/smaller space e.g a cage with no run?
Have you checked for parasites like fleas, mites etc? Fur mites are very small and easy to miss (I've had a vet look right at them and not see them!), they're tiny; often called 'walking dandruff' as that's what they look like! Though I've never seen them drive a rabbit crazy enough to bite at themselves to cause damage like this. It does look to me like an awkward place for the bun to reach himself though. Probably possible but if he's got a partner I'd be looking suspiciously at him/her :p
Hopefully the vet will be able to shed some light on it, it's great that you're getting him seen.
