Binky Free my darling bunny "Sweet"

I sadly had to say goodbye to "Sweet" - one of my 2 house bunnies - on Saturday 1st June - she was approx 8 years old.

Sweet had stopped eating last thursday night and was admitted for vet treatment on the Friday morning. Sadly, on the Satutday morning, Sweet was not responding to the meds & fluids she was given and her kidneys started to fail & so she was helped on her way over "rainbow bridge" 😭

Sweet had been affected by several episodes of inappetance since January this year, and had been to see a specialist vet for treatment. Despite full scans & tests, no real reason could be found for the cause of Sweets inappetance.

Sweet had always bounced back from illness but this time she just didn't have the strength to recover bless her.

Sweet came to us from a rescue in March 2015 with her 1st husbun Digger - they had been in foster care for a while but kept getting overlooked. When we saw them we fell in love straight away & adopted them into our family. After Sweet's husbun Digger sadly crossed rainbow bridge in 2016, we had her bonded with a gorgeous rescue bunny called Alfie - they were smitten with each other.

My darling Sweet, myself, dad & your husbun Alfie love you so much and are going to miss you terribly. I already miss our snuggles at bedtime & in the morning when I let you both out of your pen & you come to me for a snuggle before breakfast. I know you tried to keep fighting to be well but its time for you to binky free my angel. Go run through those meadows full of lush grass & wild flowers with bridge bunnies Digger, Buzz & Milo by your side. We will look after Alfie for you & we'll see you again one day my Sweet - love always Mum, Dad & Alfie 💓 xxxx

So sorry that you had to let Sweet go, sounds like she had a wonderful life with you x Binky free Sweet xxx

So sorry for your loss.

Did you adopt her from Greenleaf rescue by any chance? There was a rabbit of that name in about the right timescale that I fell for and wanted to adopt but by the time I would have been able to she was bonded to another and I was looking for a single female. She was a pale coloured harlequin lop if she was the same rabbit. I'm glad she had a happy life and so loved.

I am so sorry you lost Sweet. She was fortunate that she was adopted, along with Digger, by such a loving family. May you and Alfie comfort each other during this difficult time.

I am so sorry to read this. You gave Sweet a loving, warm and happy home to spend her life with, and you enriched her life with yours.
Binky free beautiful Sweet. xx
