Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Lady Pip has a gassy tummy and won't eat.

Vibes for Lady Pip please. She's been fine until about an hour ago. Bit of tummy pressing, and gurgling and she won't eat anything including her favourite treats.

She's been moulting heavily.

We've given her a warm wheat bag to warm her up and hopefully help. We'll be off to the vets if she doesn't start improving soon. :-(

Do hope she is better soon. Sending lots of vibes. Moulting has sometimes caused my bunnies to be unwell.

She's stopped belly pressing and she ate one bit of dried parsley, but still won't eat anything else and tummy is still gurgling.

No idea what to do. Got to be up for work in 6 hrs. OH has gone to bed. Arghhhh

Pip went weirdly flat and she was very cold. So rushed her to emergency vets. She has a very very full tummy. She's been given pain killers and motility drugs.

They said to bring her in tomorrow morning if she doesn't poop.

Just heard a big tummy gurgle, going to be a long night. More vibes needed please x

Oh dear poor Pip  Did the Vet also check her blood glucose levels and give her some SQ fluids ? I really hope that she will have produced some poo by now, sending lots of vibes xx

I am sending you tons of positive vibes. If the vet did not give her sub Q fluids, and even if vet did, you may try syringing some water into her mouth to help hydrate any gut contents. My Dash also has a very bloated tummy again so I am waiting for fresh poos too. I hope and pray we both are rewarded with a bunch of poos.

Thanks everyone I fell asleep for an hour I think.

The vet didn't give fluids but said she would if she didn't improve.

She drank twice by herself when I brought her back.

However no poops and she's still grinding her teeth and gurgling..

Vet said to bring her in at 8 if she hasn't improved at all.

Just did a bit if encouraging up and down the stairs to see if that gets things moving in her gut.

This is most unusual for her. She normally bounces back straight away after pain meds. Exhausted and worried. :-(

Thanks everyone. She's very cold but still putting up a fight if I try to go near her. Just put her in the carrier with a warm wheat bag so she can't avoid the warmth.

Phoned vets, said they'll see her at 8.30

So sorry to hear this, really hope vets visit goes well for you and Pip, sending you both loads of vibes xxxx
