Bladder flushing..

She certainly sounds like she has plenty of bunnitude [emoji38] I hope she is better tomorrow. Maybe she is biting because she is out of sorts.
Maybe who knows [emoji38] my boyfriend always gets bitten tbh, if anyone's gunna get injured from an animal it's him.. Fleur bit him somewhere.. Once when all he was wearing was boxers.... [emoji38][emoji38][emoji38][emoji38][emoji38][emoji38][emoji38][emoji38] I've never been handed a rabbit so quickly [emoji38] was the only time she ever bit anyone too! With Clementine she doesn't like being messed with, and if she gets angry enough she'll bite you [emoji38] normally she'll groom you to death but she is the sassiest of the buns I have rn. I'm hoping she'll keep improving, I saw her pee a minute ago after I gave her meds.. There was a little stream for a few seconds! That's gotta be positive! :)

Oh dear  is he bad cop? [emoji38] sounds like a positive improvement:thumb:
Nahh haha Idk what it is! There's a cat that hangs out here a lot, sweetest cat ever, one time I was like come over and say hi to the kitty! Cat scratched his arm.. A lot.. For no apparent reason... [emoji38] He doesn't like cats, apparently they always attack him... I just don't get it.. [emoji38] He isn't a natural with animals that might be it.. The tiny hamster bit his hand up badly, whereas she doesn't bite me.. The only two angels are Apricot and Penelope, they're the sweetest buns ever, Penelope has sass but she's so so sweet too, and Apricot is just a dream tbh [emoji7]

Yea I hope so, I hope we can get through this saga and try and get her and Atticus back together, altho he did try to bite her through a puppy panel earlier.. [emoji849][emoji38]

Anyone given their bun, Bendrofluazide? Or Bendrofluazine? Same thing different spelling I think. Clementine has been prescribed it

Just caught up on this. I’m sorry that you’re having such a stressful time and that Clementine is still not well. No idea about bendrofluazide in bunnies. I know in humans it’s a diuretic used to treat high blood pressure and that it makes you wee lots. Sending lots of vibes and love xx

Yes. It's another type of diuretic. Whilst Furosemide is a powerful short acting diuretic bendrofluazide is longer acting. My one concern re using Bendrofluazide is that I'd want the Bunny to be an Inpatient when given the first dose as it can cause a dramatic drop in Blood pressure. It is a drug used to treat hypertension in humans.

Ah I see! What would a drop in blood pressure look like to me watching her? Idk if they'd want to keep her in for it.. She's very stressed at the vets not sure if that's a good idea for her :S I do agree though, difficult one.. I got the tablets earlier from boots and a pill cutter. Maybe I'll stay home one day next week and give it on a day I can rush her down there? Difficult one.. My vet emailed a few specialist about prescribing this so I'm hoping it'll be okay and not effect her badly but you never know I guess :( she's gunna potentially be on this for the rest of her life too apparently :(

Oo it's a longer name than I said originally!

A sudden drop in BP can have various effects- in humans fainting, heart issues. Although you wont be able to read the full article, there is some basic info on here :

https://www.vetstream.com/treat/lapis/freeform/hypotension

That said, if several specialists have said it is an appropriate treatment for Clementine then I am not qualified to disagree. I would just not want to give the first dose at home to a Rabbit in my care as I do not have the necessary skills/monitoring equipment should problems occur x

Gosh I had no idea that could be used on animals too

Is there a different one she could have because I think i would be a bit worried about giving that to a bunny. But it must be standard practice I guess?

Thinking of you and sending hugs. Also sending lots of vibes for Clementine. I have no experience of the medication, but can understand the concern.

Thanks everyone I really appreciate the support :)

Why would you be worried about giving that to a bun? (I literally have no idea what it is other than the vet saying a diuretic and what Jane's posted.. [emoji38]) if there's stuff you know about it please tell me :) I'm not giving it til I've seen my vet, the vet who gave me the prescription was just giving it on my vets say so and didn't know what it was so I was gunna wait anyway.

The vet who gave me it though, did say she has a rabbit at her practice (different place) that has been on it for years with no issues.. So yea hopefully it'll be okay!

Ah I know just anything anyone can add I like to grill my vet about [emoji38] just kidding, but I do normally go with a million questions... [emoji38]

I'll definitely speak to her before giving it to Clementine and I think I'll stay home the day I do to make sure she's okay.

She's still not really eating normally, it's improved but it's mainly herbs still and little bits of hay, she's excited for treats again though, I wonder when she'll get her love of hay back... Or maybe she's just gone off hay? Idek!

How is Clementine doing now?
Just got back from the vets actually! My boyfriend is off too, so I had someone else to carry her for a change ;) she's basically the same, gone right off hay..

She's also now on potassium citrate aswell as the diuretic blood pressure thingy.. And tramadol and Emeprid.. Stopping loxicom now as she's been on it for weeks.. Also I have a plastic cat litter to try get another pee sample.. Hoping she doesn't eat the plastic balls.. [emoji849][emoji38]

Sent from my LYA-L09 using Tapatalk

I hope you can get a sample without much trouble. Those plastic balls go everywhere if a cat has to have them for a sample   fingers crossed she won’t eat them

Topping up the vibes for her xx

She ate two plastic balls.. Apparently they'll pass through her.. Oh also she peed at the opposite end on lots of hay... [emoji849] You looking for an overweight rex rabbit Zoobec? [emoji38] She's completely free!

I hope I haven't hurt her, I managed to get two out of her mouth... The other two were lost forever, never tackled a bunny and tried to remove something from their mouth before.... New experience... [emoji849]

Oh dear  I’m not sure Fern would welcome her  Frosty would probably groom her until she got fed up though:lol:

Can you syringe the urine out of the hay end of the tray in case they can test that?
