Not really :(

Clementine had her bladder flushed today, she didn't have stones, but so much sludge, she's home now but she looks terrible :( I've seen her pee and it's still coming out in drips.. So idek.. Idk what to do for her tbh, I'm really upset about it all.

Just going to pop to tescos to get some baby food because she's on tramadol and that tastes yucky :( maybe some fruit juice too for their water, vet said to make sure she drinks lots and lots..

Also said its probably diet.. But she only gets Timothy hay, from Timothyhay.co.uk, so it can't be that I don't think :(

Thanks for asking xx

Poor Clemmy, I'm sorry to hear this. Has EC been ruled out? I don't think it's timothy hay, you even give the buns bottled water too don't you? Xxx Hugs Gracie

I’ve just remembered Avipro plus being recommended as being something that encourages them to drink more :thumb:

Yea we've tried that, she won't touch it, tbh I don't think she doesn't drink enough... Vet just said to get her drinking as much as possible... I'm just wondering after being flushed.. Should it still be coming out in drips? :(

How about some peppermint tea? I’m trying to remember what other people have said in similar situations. You could wet any herbs or veg that she has. I’ve mever had to have a bladder flush done on a rabbit, so I’m not sure. Hopefully someone will be able to offer some advice.

I didn't know they were allowed that!

She's not allowed any veg or herbs only hay :( she hasn't started eating yet either and no poops... It's like a whole range of problems tbh

Poor Clementine

Does she have any mobility issues after her previous orthopaedic surgery ? Some arthritis now maybe ? I ask as Rabbits who are not very active are more prone to bladder sludge/stones.

I have had a few Rabbits who had to have a bladder flush, some never needed the procedure done again but the primary causes were treated- ie dietary changes, arthritic conditions looked for etc. Has Clementine been prescribed some Metacam for a few days ? Bladder flushing can leave some discomfort for a few days. The Vet usually sends off a wee sample too as often with bladder sludge some infection is involved and a course of abx is needed, usually at least a 14 day course.

You've probably read all the info on these links, but I'll post them anyway just in case

Thanks Jane

Tbh Idk.. I mean it's possible.. She gets around but she doesn't move much.. Why? Idk though, she's been on loxicom over a week now and nothings changed really. She's still on it now, and on baytril (since last Friday) Emeprid and tramadol from last night.

Couldn't get a sample.. Well she did, but it was basically horribly looking brown sluge not really a liquid... She's looked at it under a microscope and said there was crystals in it, no stones though.

Idk if clementine is pooping yet, she's nibbling hay.. I haven't syringed feed yet, I've been up most the night with them both, biggest issue is they just started cirlcing and Idk why.. I watched but it got worse, and fur was being pulled, I separated a few times but it wasn't dissolving into nothing... And he took quite the chunk out.. Idk what's happened tbh.. He went to the vets with her.. He was sweet to her all night... Anyway she's in their home, he is elsewhere now :( Idk what to do tbh I thought being together would be comforting for them.. But it seems to have become a war :'( idk what to do tbh

Probably because Clementine isn’t herself that’s why it’s affected their bond  you’ve done everything right. I think you’ve done the best thing splitting them up at least for now. Hopefully once she is better you can re bond.

At least you can monitor her input and output now. Sending lots more vibes and hugs xx

Yea I assume so :( plus without sounding mad.. Atticus basically has ptsd when it comes to the vets after what happened to him.. He becomes a different rabbit.. He growled at me this morning and bit me :/

Yea that's the silver lining, proper output monitoring [emoji38]

If I can get her okay again hopefully I can rebond soon.

Penelope and Apricot are so so sweet, loving, to each other and me.. Atticus and Clementine have always been a complete nightmare.. With their sweet moments [emoji38] never thought I'd find owning 2 rabbits this challenging [emoji38] Atticus is just weird sometimes... It's like you don't know when he is going to turn.. Bit scary. I should've know something was up he was far too clingy to me last night..

Thanks Zoobec xx

I'm sorry I didn't see this yesterday and am also sorry for the various issues you're going through with Clementine and Atticus. I have no experience with bladder flushing, but can imagine it would be quite painful. I'm not sure whether the fact that the wee is still coming out in drips is normal or not, but I think I would contact the vet and ask.

Regarding their bond, I know it goes against normal advice, but in your circumstances I think I would consider leaving Atticus at home next time. I hope that you're able to rebond soon.

Sending lots of hugs.

Spoke to vets, my vet isn't in today, nurse didn't really say much about it sadly :(

Yea issue I have is separating them causes issues too.. They have a strange relationship tbh. After what happened to Atticus he isn't the same rabbit tbh :(

Clementine left me a tiny present though after her meds.. And is eating more hay [emoji7]

I’m glad she has pooped and eating more hay, fingers crossed she continues to improve now.

Sorry about Atticus and their issues:cry:

Yea the the two of them haven't had the best time of it honestly [emoji38] they're a bit of a disaster.

Yea I'm hoping she continues to perk up :)

Anyone know anything about liquid magnesium? I think I read that on a website last night :S

I'm not jinxing anything... But they're together now.. Idk if it'll last.. Everyone pray it will...

I don't think I've ever been so worked up and anxious in my entire life when I put them both next to each other in a room they've never been in before... My heart rate was ridiculous, my fitbit said I was in "fat burn mode" [emoji38]

Anyway kitchen in front of fridge is a loved chill spot aswell as in their tray.. So I'm hoping we can forget it ever happen? We'll see I guess!
