Alternative to a ramp.

My original estimations were wrong, I'd need about 20 breeze blocks.

The steps would be two bricks wide (43cm)
Each step would be 22cm deep
And there would be a 10cm drop between each step.
And the initial drop from the hutch to the top step would be just under a cm.

What do people think of those dimensions?
Massively overdoing it :D We used a brick-width and length for our steps (where they actually step), and it's plenty. One brick up each time.

Ah ok, but our steps need to go up 2 feet, that's a lot of bricks to use to build a steady platform

Yes, but they don't need to be so wide/long :) These ones go up about 18-20" (the run itself is just under 3' here) and we've used quite a few. It's not very brick-lean! Have you thought about having a look at your local Freecycle, see if anyone's binning a load of bricks? There's usually a couple of posts about bricks and paving slabs etc. on the Nottingham one.

The steps have had to wait, need to order the bricks from B&Q.

Lola hasn't left the hutch in 5 days, so today I popped her in their carry case and moved her downstairs.

I don't know if she stays up there because of the ramp, or if she is just a lazy bunny, but if she doesn't use either the ramp or the steps when built I'm not sure what to do, she can't spend the rest of her life in a 6*2*2 hutch

So built the steps this afternoon out of 20 breeze blocks.

We've lost some space in the run below the hutch, but not too much.

Pip took it it right away, and looks a lot more comfortable on the steps that scrabbling up the ramp.

Just need to see what Lola thinks, they're sulking at the moment because I cleaned them out.
