  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Vaccination Question!

So I think I'm over complicating the vaccination situation. I am just about to ring round a couple of vets to find the cheapest price to pay for 6 of the rabbits to get fully vaccinated..

Is it normally Nobivac Myxo-RHD given first followed by Filavac?

If that is the case I don't understand why it is followed by Filavac and not Eravac as Filavac also covers RHD 1 which has already been covered by the Nobivac??

If that makes sense..! Thank you!

Just want to make sure I am asking for it right :)

As RHD2 is so prevalent at the moment I understand that many think it is better to vaccinate against that first. If I did Filavac followed by Nobivac that would be doubling up on the RHD 1. Would not be better (and makes better sense to me) to do Eravac followed by Nobivac? Thanks x

I have given Filavac first ever since RHD2 has been a threat. Calder Vets will probably be the cheapest you will find if you have a branch convenient enough.
