Oh congratulations lady pip - I could smell the fresh nuggets from here!I don't know if some of that was Archie's, but either way it is alot of poop for my teeny buns. I think she was just full of poop!!!
At least it seems to have made its way out and Pip has her appetite back straight away...
We found the first ever picture of Pip from when she was 10weeks old and she is weirdly missing fur from her chest area. Which means she's always pulled her fur from before we had her!
I've worked out she only pulls at her chest fur when moulting. So we think that perhaps that her chest fur gets looser than everywhere else during the moult and she tries to groom it and it gets stuck in her mouth cos it's an odd angle. Rather than her barbering due to stress etc. The vet ruled out illness and pain through all the tests in 2017!!!!
This is the first time she's been unwell in over a year.
So the vet has suggested we keep an eye when she's having a heavier moult like she is now and we give her fibre plex paste to keep this moving along.
Unfortunately pip will not let us groom under her chin and chest, and the fur isn't so loose that you could quickly pull it out. She would get very stressed by use holding her, but we do groom as much excess fur off as we can from everywhere else
Does anyone know another bun, who maybe has strange moulting behaviour? The vet hadn't heard of anything before, but said it was really interesting.
Have you tried the oxbow papaya tablets that are said to help with moulting?
