A friend for Dillon - sad update post 811.

I managed to take half a days leave and saw the specialist. Dillon now has a shaved ear where they took blood and he is wonderfully grumpy.
He is on the following

Baytril, Panacur, cisapride, emeprid, zantac and metacam.

Vets will ring tomorrow with the blood results.

Thank you all for your kind messages they really mean a lot.

I am very sorry to hear that Dillon is still not well and I certainly hope that the blood test results will give some answers xx

I'm so glad you saw the specialist and I hope the meds kick in fast.

Good luck for the blood results x

Oh Dillon :(
Glad you have seen a specialist and hope you get some encouraging answers soon.

I'm glad that you've seen the specialist today. I hope that the bloods don't show anything of concern, but also hope that the specialist can establish what is making poor Dilly feel unwell.

I'm sorry, but I had to laugh at him going to bed with a swede

Lol, oh Omi

I've missed this thread about Dilly, so sorry the poor little chap is going through this, really hope vets get to the cause of his problem. Lots of get well vibes for your boy xxxx

Hopefully no news means good news ?? I know it's really hard not to worry though. I will pop back to check on this thread later to see if you have received an update xx

The update came just before 9pm and all normal except Amylase, Creatinine and Globulin are all raised and Urea is low. Sheryl said that he is on the right medication for the blood results and that she would like a urine sample from him on Sunday evening ready to send off monday morning.

Back to the vets today, remain on the same meds but introduce Tramadol. Dilly is really struggling, the urine scald is bad but now he has stasis too. I am syringe feeding. We hope that the increased pain meds will enable him to feel a bit better enough to eat. The side effect is that he might be too drowsy to eat. Thank goodness I am off this weekend.

Poor Dilly :( Does the vet think that the urine scald is happening because of a UTI? Are you still going to get a urine sample sent off next Monday?

I really hope that he feels a lot better soon.

Grief you are going through the mill with this. I am so sorry :(

I hope something works and Dilly gets more comfortable xx

No Omi, the vet is going to get a sterile sample straight from the bladder on Monday. This sample will be sent off rather than a home urine sample. His blood test did not show a urine infection.

Thank you MM for your wishes
