Awwww poor thing, I hope he'll be OK. We used to see loads of seals when we lived in Shetland. Sadly we were up there at the time of an outbreak of a virus which decimated much of the seal population. We would frequently find beached dead seals 
Sometimes they would have a pup nearby, which was especially sad
