We lost our beautiful Biscuit bunny.
He was amazing. He was our first rabbit and introduced us to the joy of having a house bunny. We’ve never looked back.
Biscuit was the cheekiest yet grumpiest rabbit and he loved following you around, getting into places where he shouldn’t. His favourite activity was zooming round at full speed on the mornings before jumping onto the bed and landing on your face to wake you up
Biscuit was the most particular rabbit and he would only ever lie against a wall or side. Never in the middle of the floor.
He was with us for five and a half years. He was the cheapest rabbit I’ve ever owned because in the time we had him, the only time he required a vet visit was when he ate too much newspaper one time
Then last November he stopped eating. This wasn’t unlike him as he was so grumpy that he would often turn his nose up, but after a couple of hours when he still hadn’t eaten, we knew something was wrong. We called the vet and got him straight in. He was so lifeless and she managed to get a urine sample because he weed on the table. He never did that. It flagged something in his kidneys so we were given medication and went straight home. We opened the door to his carrier and he stumbled onto the carpet. He stumbled all over the place for about 30 seconds before finding my husband and lying on his lap. I knew something wasn’t right so called the vets back. Before they answered he’d fitted and died.
It was horrific. I will never forget the sight and it often replays in my mind. The only thing that gives me comfort was that he knew he was loved and safe when he died and he deliberately found that place to die. We buried him in his favourite basket with his favourite teddy.
It’s only been recently that we’ve been able to look at photos of him again. I hope you enjoy them as much as I have looking through them tonight [emoji3590]
