  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

One of Jellys toes is higher than the others. She lets me touch it and it doesn’t seem to be bothering her but I’m a bit concerned. Surely if it was broken she wouldn’t let me touch it. I think I need to book a vets appointment but I just wondered if anyone hadn’t any experience of this

One of Bumble's toes is stuck out from the others. We did take her to the vets. I can't remember if it was affecting her at the beginning or not now but I think they said it was broken (but this was just by looking at it) they strapped it I think that was all they did. We went back they strapped it again (cos it fell off) but i decided not to go further with it cos it didn't seem to be bothering her at all and the vet agreed. It's still splayed out but she's not bothered by it

Luna's also sticks up - it was broken/dislocated at some point and healed like that. as long as it isn't bothering them, I see no worries with it :)
