  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Declan’s acting odd (mabey)

well he's eating :) had a treat and some banana which he was shunning all day and eating hay off his own back. to be honest they ways he is now I would have no cause for concern, but after what he was like earlier. My girlfriend is going to ring the vets with the guy who knows about rabbits as soon as it opens tomorrow morning and get his looked over! hopefully it will be a wasted trip and he's okay!

So pleased to hear that he improved and I agree that a Vet check is still a good idea. Even if it is just to be informed that he's perfectly healthy !!

managed to nip him to the vets before work, the vet cant notice anything wrong, but understood that the pooing was a issue, he is on a course of medicine and having critical care for 2 days then we will go from there!

he seems happy, part from the critical care and medicine time. but he's eating better acting normal playing, and his tummy feels abit more normal somehow :)

thanks for the help and good thoughts guys! you lot are the best :D

So glad things are going well Ross :thumb:

Yes he is off critical care thank you!! Still not as excited for treats as usall tho but he’s eating hay and some nuggets.

Tried both rabbits out on parsley and he seems to like the leaves, also might get him some spinage, curly kale and cucumber to see if he likes them, bit more greens in the diet might stop it happening again mabey !
