  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Very worried about stasis

All the healing vibes I can muster for Ludo. And sending you some hugs too, nothing quite so worrisome as a poorly bunny. I hope he'll be feeling better soon. Hand in there Suzie. xxxxx

Thank you everyone. He's staying in and going to have fluids and painkillers and be syringe fed through the night. A better vet checked him over and found absolutely no causes either so hopefully if we see him through the symptoms he'll get through it.

Fluids, pain killers and syringe feeding may be all that he needs to recover. I have had my own bunnies make full recoveries after being in stasis for two or three days with these treatments; so, do not become discouraged.

Loads of positive vibes for Ludo. I know only too well the horrible feeling when a bun stops eating and have everything crossed that he turns the corner soon. xx

Hoping for good news for Ludo very soon x Hugs for you xx

Louie also used to have regular bouts of Stasis, never seemed to be a reason for it.

I hope that Ludo is responding to treatment and is feeling better this morning xxx

Update on Ludo: he seems brighter in himself but he's not eating at all which is worrying. They're keeping him in and if no improvement by the afternoon we'll have to start looking for a sinister reason as he's been checked again and we still can't find anything simple that's wrong.

Adding vibes for Ludo.

I hope you're managing to bear up Suzie x
