    Default Sore Hocks

    Hi everyone

Just looking for a little bit of advice. My rabbit is perfectly happy and healthy in herself but I've noticed she has quite red heels at the moment. She running around and jumping perfectly fine but I'm just a little concerned. Just wondered if anyone else had this happening?

I have full intentions of getting them checked over

    Tx

Rabbits can have a small calloused area on their hocks. Without actually being able to see your Rabbit it's impossible to say if there is real cause for concern . So I'd get your Vet to take a look. If there is a problem it is always best to catch it in it's early stages. Sore hocks can be a secondary symptom of other mobility/skeletal problems, so a thorough examination of the Bunny by a Rabbit Savvy Vet would be my first course of action.

    Hi there

What's your rabbit running around on? Sometimes the substrate can be causing just a bit of redness that isn't exactly sore hocks but where the fur is a bit worn. Carpet for example can be quite abrasive sometimes ...
Please vaccinate your rabbits for RHD2 as well ..
Two more house rabbit deaths just confirmed
