  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Thank you all.

I am very upset. Pregnancy hormones probably don’t help!

However I also feel ‘at peace’ because I know we did everything we could. The vet nurse was sad too as he is a regular because of the dentals. She said he ate everything yesterday and even some dandelions too. I’m glad he felt well enough to eat his favourite things

We spent Sunday in the garden, cuddles on the sofa and he slept on my bed with lots of nose rubs, even telling me off when I stopped. He has even left some bits of damage everywhere which at the time I was cross about but they’ve made me smile a bit today. Wanted to make sure he has left his mark!

We picked him up from the vet, I got chance to take him home, stroke him and say goodbye. We have buried him in the garden and decided to come on holiday as I know I’d find it hard with his room being next to ours. When I get back we will do something to make a nice pretty corner for him and to make a plaque.

My thoughts are with you. What a loved bunny with attitude he was :)
