  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Crusty eyes, normal?

Hey, bun/s are booked in for their jabs (Luna tomorrow) and male bun 5 days after I've got him. Thanks both for the advice I'm about to read through it all now! As its been a while I am a little out the loop if I'm honest but I'm trying to get back up to speed. I do want to add a quick comment though. I called up two vets (the 2nd just to compare prices) but neither mentioned rhd2 vaccine. My local had to quickly ask a vet and said to wait a couple of weeks after the first and vets4pets rattled off the price as soon as she was questioned about it but no mention about a little wait. I may read it in all the info I'm about to read but just wanted to let ppl know they have to push slightly for this rhd2 vaccine...

I have found that the receptionist sometimes hasn't heard of the vaccine - but when they call through to the vet they are usually more on the ball. Not always, but most of the time :)

Good to compare prices - that's what I do to get the best deal :)
