Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Flea treatment?

No evidence to suggest fleas.

But just got them back from bonding where they were amongst lots of animals and cats etc, was wondering if there's a bunny type spot on like you use for a dog? Just so I can be sure there's nothing on them?

Thanks :) x

Advantage is licensed for rabbits:

I personally wouldn't use anything without clear evidence of fleas :)

I guess I'm just scared that if there's anything on them.. They'll infest my parents place..

After my house infestation when I got the keys I'm kinda terrified of them [emoji38] x

Yeah I can understand - not nice at all!

I wouldn’t use it if you can’t see any fleas or flea dirt in their fur - i understand that you’re concerned but I’ve had a bunny have a bad reaction to flea spot-on, she had a horrid bloody sore on the back of her neck afterwards. And that was after only a few hours, I dread to think how bad it would have gotten if we hadn’t spotted it and washed it off.

If they do turn out to have them, I’d recommend advantage for the bunnies and indorex for the house - indorex is brilliant stuff, sorts them right out and keeps them away for up to a year.

Ive used a combination of a flea comb with warm soapy water, a flea light with a sticky pad and advantage spot on treatment and found they worked. We treated a room with flea spray as well.
