  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Ear infection

Thank you everyone. Will take a look at the Facebook groups. They've started him on a different antibiotic today xxx

He's home! Nystagmus gone but still got head tilt. He's on the antibiotic depocillin and a whole host of other drugs xxx

Do you mean to help with the head tilt? I'd be afraid of hurting him! xx

Yes I have managed to straighten bunnies' heads, but I can appreciate you need to be very careful.

I think I might just be judged by some for saying that, but I've said it anyway

I'm glad to hear that the nystagmus resolved and I hope that he responds well to all of his medication. Something you may want to consider for the future to try to help his head tilt is Acupuncture. My Vet has carried this out on several of my Rabbits over the years for a variety of conditions.

Also, a Veterinary Physiotherapist may be useful to consult

That's great to hear bless him!! What a little trooper!

Long may it continue, and hopefully those anti-biotics will kick in soon xxx

Glad to see that he is doing well :)
Please join the fb group for additional support if you haven't already.
Sounds like he is on a great treatment plan :thumb:

Thank you so much everyone. Haven't joined the group yet but will take a look :) We think the tilt is looking better, and he seems perkier. He's back at the vets on Fri for a check up xxx
