  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Boo has a pre planned "dental" tomorrow

Thank You all so much. She went in at 8.30am this morning, anticipating picking her up at 5pm with a call to update inbeween. Poor little porky sausage - I'm hoping we are not continuing with the antibiotics as she is turning in to a little fatty with drug laden pellets. I shall keep you all updated

Great news! Do you know how her teeth were yet? I bet you can't wait to pick her up and get a cuddle again and she'll love being back home x

Thank You - I'm sure the vibes help. It will be interesting to see whats happened over the last 6 weeks.

Glingle - specialist thinks she has an occlusal cyst - very rare in rabbits (typical Boo). Xray showed mass behind her eye that they don't think fits with an abscess. The rest of her teeth are really healthy (or were, I should hang fire for the update) & distinctly non dental looking

Hope all is well when you get the report in person :)

It hadn't grown loads. Tiny pink patch in her mouth where it might have caught but no ulcer & previous one has healed. The cavities where the previous teeth were are still there but really small. She is tucking in to a right big herby fest with her chums. we've only been home a few minutes. not too wobbly either.

Thanks for all yor support

The receptionist there has 9 bunnies :) There were some other beautiful bunny patients in today so Boo was in good company

Oh bless her and as you say trust her to have something rare! Glad to hear that she is home and happy again. Is she likely to need regular GAs to check on things from now on or will they just treat as and when she shows symptoms?

The problem with boo is she is mean with signs - not one of the dental list of about 12. Quite ironic for a deaf bunny. There may be a few subtleties we are slowly putting together. We'll probably go to 7 weeks for the next one & get some more xrays . Todays app was made weeks ago. She is too brave for her own good that girl
