New Kit
Hi guys, I've started the process of bonding my bunnies, Enid and Benjie.
Benjie is a 6-7 month old neutered male I've had since July/August. He's hyper, bouncy, loves food, and loves snuggles. He's a mini lion lop.
Enid is a 2year 8 month old unspayed female who I've had for just over 2 weeks. She is a mini lop crossed with a lion head. My vet wants to get her up to date with her vaccines before spaying her. The plan is to spay her in 3-4 weeks. She's still getting used to me and my parents but I can already tell she's a lovely lass who loves her toys and her snuggle safe. She's shy towards the humans of the house but again I've not had her long.
We've been keeping them separated with strong wire in an indoor cage. Today after two weeks of this we put them into a neutral play pen they hadn't been in before. There was a lot of circling, it looked like some nipping/aggressive grooming, Enid mounted Benjie a LOT, they lay nose to nose for relatively long periods of time, and Benjie did instigate a little fight but we broke it up quick and no injuries happened. We think he was getting fed up of being mounted.
I'm still learning to speak bunny so I was hoping someone could tell me if those are good or bad signs? I really want this to work but I'm aware that not all bunnies will bond...
Also I would really appreciate any bonding tips people have!!
