I can't get her to drink from a bottle

I can't find a way to get my 8 week old rabbit to drink from a bottle. she only drinks from a bowl, and even then doesn't drink much, as far as I know. She won't eat much other than hay either. The man that I got her from gave me a bag of the feed that he gives his rabbits, along with some seeds and oat mix. He told me to sprinkle on the mix once a day, but she still doesn't eat much other than timothy hay.

Do you have any tips for getting her to eat her feed and drink from her bottle?

Is she pooing normally and is she bight within herself ?

Is there a particular reason why she cant just continue to have a water bowl rather than a bottle ? All my Rabbits have water bowls :)

Hi Claire

I am guessing you don't have the space for a water bowl or it gets mucky? Otherwise I would go with a bowl, as research has shown that a rabbit drinks more from a bowl than a bottle.

I am glad she is eating her hay, that's a good thing.

Here's some info on diet - apologies if you've seen it before :)

The most important component of a rabbit's diet is hay, as you know. Has she been to a vet for her vaccinations? At that time you could consult with the vet about her diet, and also get him to evaluate her weight to see whether you need to make adjustments.

Good luck xx
