Bonding help

Young Bun
Hiya, ive had my 8 year old lop since a baby and he has had 3 partners in his life. 2 successful bonds and one he absolutley hated. I took on a lovely 7 year old female in the summer, and they just completely ignore each other. They will have a sniff but just are not bothered with each other. Is this normal?

Hi sammy

I hope you'll excuse me giving you a list of links, but I haven't time to write more at the moment ... Perhaps something here will help?
There are also lovely people on here to give more personalised advice - as will I when I have time :)

Also, Mairwen Guard has put some brilliant bonding videos on YouTube which are well worth watching - do search for them as there are quite a few.

Do you mean you are bonding them and they are ignoring each other?
Yes I've been trying to bond them but they are just not interested in each other. They will lay next to each other but They dont even acknowledge each other

How big is their bonding space?

Other than sniffing have there been any interactions at all such as asking for grooming, laying down together etc.

I started with a large space but have gradually made it smaller to see if that helps. They will lay down next to eachother but not touching. They literally ignore each other

It may be worth making the space around 10 to 12 sqft. This means they'll have pretty much no choice but to interact.

Is it normal? I've come to believe there is no normal when it comes to bunnies. Even if they don't seem loved up I'm sure they'll appreciate the security & comfort provided from each others company. Are they together the whole time or are you bonding with "dates"? Are they inside or outside bunnies?

I was about to ask the same.
