Bunny thumping for attention?

So bonding my two buns is still going great, but one of them keeps thumping and trying to stick his head underneath the other rabbit. Is this for attention? He's always grooming the other but not getting much grooming back?
 
When a rabbit puts his head under the other one it's a request for grooming. If that grooming doesn't happen then it's possible that the thumping is caused by frustration. Hopefully this issue will sort itself out in time, either that the request for grooming does result in actual grooming, or the other rabbit just accepts it.

Mine did this for the first couple of days - neither would groom the other, and there'd be periods of both trying to put their head down asking to be groomed, then thumping at each other. It petered out, though - now they just annoy each other by refusing to groom :lol:
