Wildie rabbit or hare?

I thought this was a hare but the more I look at it the less sure I am!

I have a few more pics (have only edited a few so far) but those two show the head and body quite clearly. When it moved it looked more lanky than other wildies I've seen. I think I'm having a blonde moment, can someone tell me which it is?!

Thanks!

Looks like a wild rabbit to me.
But it has been almost 18 years since I saw a hare!
The back foot looks too small, the front legs look a little too short too. However, the ears and face are hare like.

Oh, I'm undecided now!

Leveret/young hare judging by the size of the eyes. The black ear tips give it away as a hare, as does the curly hair. I've never seen a wild rfabbit with curly hair (from the rain), it tends to spike rather than curl! Also the ears are way too long: domestic rabbits tend to have longer ears, I think, as the wildies around here always look like they've got such dinky ears!

Thank you! I did get a short video but I don't think he moved much during it. To be honest I doubt I'd be able to hold it steady enough for video even if he did! He did look rather lanky which was what made me think hare.

Couple more pics, can see the black tips more in these.

Then he went and just slept, right in the middle of the grass! Absolutely fascinating, it's not like there wasn't any trees he could hide under!

Oh beautiful clear pictures. They really show the hare in him ;) (Or her)

very much a hare, the black ear tips and face shape give it away :) Sleeping above ground is the norm for hares too, I guess he's not learnt how to make a little hidey place just yet :)

The ears definitely did it for me - a hare :D

There's a good video of a rabbit and and hare together here:

Also - watch to the end ;)

How absolutely beautiful!

I've only ever seen a couple of wild hares and they are all so elegant and beautiful.

That last one: such a hare thing XD As Georgeypudding said, not learnt to make a scrape (is that what it's called?) yet :D

Lovely photos :D
