  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Rabbit specialist vet in Surrey

Is north Surrey near Molesey ? I am in Surrey but go to a vets in Twickenham London but use an emergency vets in East Molesey.

It is near Epsom

No first hand experience of consulting with them, but Bobtails Rabbit Rescue use Corner Vets in Sutton, only about 15 mins from Epsom.

So whilst the Vets there may not be 'Exotics Specialists' they will certainly have A LOT of experience with Treating Rabbits. The lady who owns Bobtails Rescue works on Reception at the Practice (her name is Delia), so you could give them a call and ask to speak with her. I am sure that she'd give you good advice xx

Aspen vets have had recommendations in the past and they are not far:

I have also personally visited, many times, http://www.thecornervet.co.uk

The vet I saw has retired, but the practice is used by Bobtails Rabbit Rescue in Ewell - it might be worth giving them a ring. Jim and Delia run the Rescue and they will be able to help :)

Good luck :)

C J Hall is excellent, I have taken my three chinchillas there at various times. They are in East Sheen and well worth the journey. We travel from Lower Sunbury Surrey (near Shepperton) to CJ Hall. They are exotic specialists and they are not cheap but very thorough. As you say on your other thread your bunny is only 4. I would definitely consider going there. Best of luck.
