New Kit
Hi, I have a wonderful lion head named MoMo. He has a malclusion and at first I was told to just trim with dog nail clippers. Did that each month for about 5 months, now I am taking him to my vet and he has to be put under with gas and my vet uses a dremel tool and files them down, my concern is that either way I go I'm afraid its not the best choice. Should I ask my vet to take out his bottom teeth? The teeth grow so fast that I am taking him to the vet at least once per month. I offer him plenty of hay, he has a part of a deer antler to chew and he does not chew on it. Also have wood ect. What should I do to keep him happy and healthy he is such a cool guy he is only a little over a year old. Thanks for any advice you may have. Renee

Hi renee and welcome to RU

The best thing I ever did for my rabbit with maloccluded teeth was to get the vet to take them out. Top and bottom. You can't just remove the bottom teeth, as the top teeth have nothing to grind against.

Make sure your rabbit savvy vet is thoroughly confident with the procedure and go for it :)
