  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Gutted for Xena. Finally some good news for my strong girl. :)

She did start eating again on the evening and did a huuge pile of good poos. She was quiet but eating yesterday and today she is back to her usual feisty self! ❤ I am over the moon and I think she must have just felt a little under the weather after her vac. I am so proud of this girl. She has been so brave and so strong. Just like her name sake! ❤
Thank you so much for all the vibes. It really helps. X

Wow, amazing news :D

I am pleased your bunny is doing so well. May you and your soulbunny have many more happy, healthy years together.

Fiver has put weight on. Him and SF have been vaccinated. Since he's put weight on and they are both happy we are putting off the dental until they have both been fully vacced. Depending on how Fiver is, we may decide not to do the dental. His teeth are long but no spurs are visible and with his age, we'd rather not risk it. I'll be monitoring him and making sure he puts the weight back on. The vet believes that it may just be down to his age. He doesn't feel skinny and is active and happy within himself.
SF does need a dental at some point as she has the start of spurs. Vet advised to wait 2 weeks after the vhd2 vac so it will be in about a month's time. She is eating fine and certainly has not lost any weight. She weighs 2.6kgs now! Compared to Fiver's measley 1.6kgs and Xena's 2.0kg she seems huge to me. Haha.
Xena continues to be fine within herself. I think it was just the vhd2 vac that made her quiet.
Thanks for all the positive thoughts. :)
