Safe foraging

Bunneywell

New Kit
Hi all,

I'd really like to offer my rabbits some foraging as at the moment they just have the odd dandillion from the garden! But I'm not sure what else can be given.

I live near a large woodland area and I imagine there's a lot on offer, but I worry about whether this is safe to give what with all the wildlife there.

Do I just need to wash anything I pick? And are there any obvious things I can start with without having to worry about getting it wrong? Can't go wrong with a dandillion so hoping some other things can be spotted as easily too.

Many thanks

And a very good book written by Twigs Way called 'Foraging for Rabbits' which can be purchased from the RWAF bookshop

Brambles and hawthorn should be easy to identify and in good supply.

I never wash forage, but do remove any visibly soiled bits. (I.e. leaves with bird droppings)
