  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Boo's been unwell, now Pippin too u/d both home!

Another update. Boo is doing a bit better, but Pippin is still causing concern. The initial ct reports were clear. Nothing showed in their GI tract even. Both have minor teeth problems but not enough to cause the problems they have. I asked again about RVD2. They still couldn't rule it out, but didn't expect Boo had it since she is responding to treatment. They couldn't be so sure about Pippin but said their lymph nodes were fine on the ct.

I will get another update in the morning, assuming no major changes overnight.

Pippin and Boo are home!! Pippin is still a little quiet, but much better than he was. Hopefully some stress free time at home will help now.

Thank you everyone who sent vibes.

I am so relieved to hear that they are both doing alot better now !! xx

Sending you , Boo and Pipen more positive vibes.
GI issues can take time to resolve, and that can be stressful for you too.

Phew! That must be such a big relief to have them home again :) How are they doing now?

They're still both a bit quiet, but eating ok. Both are off the meds now, so I've been keeping a close eye on them. The lovely vet from D1ck vets phoned on Friday to check how they were doing.

My neighbour has told me that there was a massive cat that climbed up their run (full height run) a short while ago. She said the rabbits were banging really loudly. Perhaps this is what caused it all.

Fear induced stress is certainly a possibility. I really hope that they will remain well now xx
