Advice needed do I get a friend or not?

Nicola1

Wise Old Thumper
Zero lives on his own and has done for a while now. He used to be part of a group but he kept attacking other bunnies, he had a real go at Harvey who nearly ended up losing an eye.

Thing is he looks so miserable on his own. It sounds awful but he is old (at least 8) and blind and I thought he wouldn't be with us long. But he's not slowing down so Im thinking maybe we should get him a friend I hate seeing him miserable.

I'm thinking maybe a group was overwhelming as he's blind and he will be OK in a pair. If we do lose him I could just bond the girl into my other group.

Thing is though I'm worried what if he attacks the new girl? He's gone for girls as well as boys in the past. But hes also been in happy bonds. The local rescues aren't massively knowledgable about bonding so I thought I'd ask for some advice on here first x

Hi Nicola

I have a few useful links, and whilst everyone doesn't agree on methods, you can sort out what works best for you ...

I also think that if you go for bonding, then go for it. Don't worry about 'what ifs'. Have confidence :D

How many Rabbits are in your group ? Is there an 'outsider' in the group whom you could try to bond with Zero ?

I'd try to find a rescue that could allow him to try a couple of dates to see which bunny scent he responds to best.
