Default I've found some pinworms :(

One of the rabbits I've fostering has passed 2 pinworms (so gross). I'm going to call the vet tomorrow and get some Panacur. I'll treat both rabbits. Does anyone know if humans can catch these? I'm always kissing the rabbits! And if so how can we be treated? What else do I do to make sure the worms have gone from the rabbits' area? They tend to have run of the lounge /downstairs.

    Ugh Elaine, how horrible!

No danger to humans, and keep the rabbits and their accommodation very clean

Rabbit parasites such as pinworms, other nematodes, tapeworms, and coccidia are host-specific, and since they don't use mammalian intermediate hosts

A nine day course of Panacur will see off the little blighters

Thank you! It's so disgusting, I just saw a third one wriggling too Can't stop itching! Do you know how long the eggs can survive without a host? I can't find it on the links x
EDIT: just found this The eggs can remain active and in the environment for years, even at room temperature.

I just found this: http://petcaretips.net/worms-pet-rabbit.html which says it's very hard to destroy pinworm eggs ...

On the positive side (is there one?) it says here that they can benefit digestion:

I think Elaine, to coin a phrase .... you may have opened up a can of worms here

    Yes, I totally get that!

My dog had worms when we first got him and I literally couldn't eat rice noodles for years
