Default Did I do the right thing?

    Hi all,

My friend has two adorable rabbits named marble and tigger, sadly tigger has caught gastrointestinal Statis. On Tuesday night they took him to the vets and they got pineapple juice, a tablet thing and some syringe food. I have been telling her what I know and I told her to keep the two rabbits together rather than apart(they were) and I was having a conversation with her and we were talking about how dark leafy greens in moderation are really good to prevent that and so I supplied her with some Spring greens. Apparently both the rabbits love the spring greens and tigger has been eating them loads, which is fantastic news, do you guys have any advice or any corrections as I'm sure that it would be very useful!!

    Many thanks.

I am very pleased your friend's rabbit is eating again and well done for trying to help her. We don't tend to use Pineapple Juice as it is high sugar and can make rabbits tummies worse. Spring Greens are a favourite of my rabbits and so that was a good suggestion! I wonder what caused the Stasis, it would be useful to know so they can hopefully prevent it from happening again. You could also tell your friend about this Forum so she can also learn lots about her rabbits. Well done.

Do you know whether the vet also gave a gut stimulant and painkiller?

Thank you I will inform her! (edit) I asked her and she told me the vet told her that there is an enzyme in the juice that helps unblock the gut
