Help and Ideas for our new outdoor enclosure and playhouse please, love Ben and Roo!

Good morning everybunny!

We've had a long winter in our enclosure in the humans garage but it's nearly spring and we need to get out in the sunshine again and get some exercise (we may have put on a little extra holiday weight as we have perfected cute begging faces our human can't resist - but she says enough is enough now).

Our human has bought us a new playhouse but she needs some help to make it very special (because we are her very special fluffy wuffy's).

The playhouse is 4ft x 4ft and has a door and 3 windows and will have a cat flap somewhere in the left side wall so we can get out to our new run. (we don't think we need the run because we prefer to cuddle up and eat lots but there's that holiday weight to get rid of so I guess we'll have to show willing).

Our human needs advice on;
- Animal friendly paint (our playhouse is second hand and needs a sand and repaint).

- Layout advice - we want to be able to get up to look out our windows (so we can do our cute begging faces and be nosy). Our human thinks obtaining old cupboards and re-purposing them would be useful but wonders if she should just spend the money and get new wood.

- Windows...does she replace the windows with wire? The big man human says not as we have an outdoor area but our human says it should be changed. (she would then get the man human to add shutters for cold evenings, the man human did not seem pleased at this...he might like us but we are not his special fluffy wuffy's and he has better things to do than spend a whole afternoon creating and fixing shutters. Bad man human! :( )

- Trim for any corners and sides as we do like to chew everything and anything (well if she would just feed us more!).

- Best cat flap for buns (lazy buns)

- Pictures of layouts, ideas etc...

Thanks other humans!

Love from Benny and Ruby

Have you looked at the examples on the Housing sticky - some excellent ideas. 4b deals specifically with playhouses.
Yes, definitely need constant access to an attached run of at least 8ft x 6ft.

I've got mine in a shed and didn't put wire in the windows - for winter it's much warmer. How about a wire inner door so in the hot summer it can be opened for air?

A lot of people use Cuprinol garden shades as that is bunny safe. If you use vynil or rubber stable matting on the floor it will be easier to clean. Edges can be protected with plasterboard edging strip.

Oh yes, forgot about the paint! A vote for Cuprinol - isn't the cheapest, but lasts very well.
