Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Bunny lump

I'm sure Daisy will let you know if the time comes. Sounds like shes just enjoying your company at the moment, bless her.

She's very comfy in bed right now. All cosy, my uncle just saw her and said she looks cosy.

Me and mum can't pts. She seems calm and sleepy and we just want her to pass as nicely as possible. It's the most difficult decision ever. We'll see if she wants water in a bit in case she is thirsty.

I'm so sorry, this must be incredibly difficult for you [emoji17]

I think for the time being you should carry on doing what you're doing, that's just keeping an eye on her and making sure she is calm and settled.

I can completely understand why you would want her to pass away peacefully at home. Both my bridge bunnies died in stressful circumstances: one overnight at the hospital on her own in a strange environment. The other passed away in the taxi as we were dashing from the emergency vet to the specialist. I still find the way they passed very upsetting and wish more than anything they'd passed away at home where they felt safe and loved. I know that's what you want for Daisy too.

Daisy is very lucky to have you looking out for her. You know her better than anyone and I think you're right to listen to your gut instinct on what to do for the best.

Lots of hugs for you, I know you're going through a really tough time at the moment. xxx

Hi Scrappy, I'm so sorry about your bridge bunnies, they know you were doing your best to help and they'd tell you that if they could.

We were so near to calling the vet earlier, but me and my mum cried so much we just couldn't do it. My dad said she's comfortable so we decided to just let nature take its course unless anything else happens. She's been having cuddles tonight as I watched some tv and me and mum have been talking to her. We gave her bum a little flannel as she's too weak to move and wees herself.

Thank you everyone for the hugs everyone <hugs>.

I'm hoping she'll go peacefully tonight.I have the heating on for her, she's wrapped with blankets and i have a blanket covering the top of her hutch so she doesn't feel threatened by anything, but she can still see out. She just looks very sleepy.

thinking of you both. You are very in tune with Daisy - I think you'll know. I hope you get more cuddles. She sounds a real sweetheart x

Thank you. She doesn't look scared just very tired and peaceful. Her ears feel a little colder I think. Her ears are still up though. I've been very close to Daisy since she was a little baby. She has been such a good mammy that months after having her babies and they were all grown up I caught her feeding them her milk, she stopped afterwards though. She's always been so loving. She's always been so wicked and teasing with me though, lol. She's always made me laugh. Because she's white and fluffy mum bought me a dressing gown that is white and fluffy and I'd carry her around wearing it. :)

That looks like a really good book, I will have to order it, thank you :)

I really hope she's not scared though. I feel all morbid and black about death, I hope she doesn't feel like that.

I think it's just humans that feel morbid about death, cos it's a bit of a taboo.

Animals don't feel the same way :)
