  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Well it wouldn't be a holiday without Zero going into stasis :(
He's at the vets now with Breeze and has to stay in at least overnight, my anxiety is doing overtime as I realised as I got back in the car that I didn't say goodbye to him and if anything awful happens I won't get a chance

Thanks guys, he is prone to stasis and so stays in the vets at least a few times a year with it. (Usually on a bank holiday weekend!) I just have a bad feeling this time.

I don't know what's caused it this time as it's usually something different in their diet that sets him off but they've had nothing different since they had the carrot peelings on Xmas day.

I've spoken to the vet this morning and he has eaten a little over night but they want to keep him in at least until tomorrow so thy can monitor him and keep giving pain killers, gut stimulant and antibiotics.
I feel happier now he's eating but still trying to keep busy so I don't worry too much
