Please Note - Medical Advice
Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.
You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.
We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.
Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.
They're gorgeous and it looks like a wonderful feast they have there.
When you reflect on things, Selene and Elphie do not know that they are not in the best of health. It's sadly you who must bear the burden of this knowledge. They will just feel very secure, very loved and enjoying their life (and food) at the moment. That's really not a bad situation to be in.
Sending lots more hugs.
Thank you all. It makes me feel like my heart is bursting with love, thanks to the support you are all giving Selene and I.
She's having another good day.
Some photos-
Once my OH's moved his tools from the dining room, the girls will have some more permanent space inside. I'm giving them regular run arounds (or ponder arounds, as the case may be!) and even more regular top ups of food!
I'm giving this one at the moment to Amber guinea pig, as a bit of an experiment. http://www.bodykind.com/product/6961-natures-answer-milk-thistle-seed-30ml.aspx The vet has told me to give her 0.3 ml twice a day, which is quite a high dose.

Yes I think that's quite a high dose too, for such a small animal
But I haven't used that brand before, so suppose I can't comment really. I guess your vet has experience of these things Sarah?
That's the same one I bought. I've started the dose at 0.1ml, will keep it there for a couple of days, then do 0.1 twice daily and so on, until I reach a similar dose for them. Thank you for the guideline- I hope Amber piggie is really benefitting from it.
