  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Sylar's stasis thread

What a beautiful boy! I'm so pleased to see he is eating. I am wondering if he has some spurs on his very back teeth, that the vet cannot see with him awake? Sometimes they only need to be tiny to cause problems with eating, hence leading to gut slow down and stasis. Sending you all further vibes and hoping Sylar is soon fully well again. xxx

Lovely pics of him eating his herbs :) I'm pleased that he's improved, but understand how frustrating it must be that you've really not got to the bottom of it all yet. Have you got an appointment to take Sylar back to see Molly on Monday?

She wants to see him again on Monday so we are taking him up. She does take emails and she will happily talk to me on the phone too. One of the interns rang her at 11pm on Wednesday night to ask about the metacam and I didn't expect a response but she got straight back to me.
Thanks for all the lovely comments about Sy, I agree that he is a beautiful boy

I really hope you get some answers on Monday. He really is a beautiful boy and I am sending him vibes and gentle nose rubs. Xxx

Sounds like she's one in a million

My specialist vet also takes emails and phone calls and it's such a bonus :)

Adding some more supportive and healing vibes for you both. I can relate as I hate having to wait a weekend for pet issues to be resolved, but it sounds like Molly is very much on top of things. I do hope you get a manageable answer on Monday.

Sy is beautiful! :) Those pictures are fantastic! xxxx

He is trying so hard  My gorgeous boy :)
I've resigned myself to the fact that I now live in a farm  sorry about the carpet!
