VetFleece - Non-slip vs Green Back

Hello,

So Foxy's sore hocks are refusing to go down, by way of inflammation but it's back to the vets on Monday to hopefully diagnose arthritus, and get her some increased pain relief or solution.

However I am currently using this type of vetfleece in her hutch, as well as blankets and baby cot duvets:

But whenever I come down in the morning, and open up the hutch it's vetfleece massacre lol!

So I'm looking to upgrade from the non-slip, rubber backed vetfleece to the luxury original backed fleece:

Has anyone, or does anyone use these? Have you had any success with not chewing it!

I think it's to do with the fact, that where she is chewing is where her pipe used to be connected to her run, but since one of her hocks burst (3 weeks or so ago now) she has been on hutch rest and not on the grass at all.

I'm also going to be using these in her hutch: https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00IUH210W/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
But I'm not sure where or how yet.

Thank you all

I believe the non-slip type is heavier because of the grip on the bottom so if your rabbit can dig/scrunch that up then the green back stuff will be even easier for them. The original stuff is denser though and supposed to be more supporting of the joints so might make your bunny a bit more comfortable, but i don't think it'll make much of a difference with chewing. I'm lucky that mine don't chew anything they're not supposed to, as long as they have their favourite hay (readigrass/excel herbage) and some willow sticks or apple branches, maybe you could try some different types of hay if you haven't already? Mine absolutely love scratching/chewing/eating apple tree branches so if you can get hold of some that might distract her. Maybe try chew stoppa spray if nothing else works, not the apple flavoured stuff though as many rabbits actually like that

Instead of vetbed, have you tried Fitch in the hutch? It's lovely and soft, as well as absorbant, and a nice thick bed of it would do a pretty good job of protecting sore hocks.

Foxy has the paper type bedding in her bathroom now, instead of hay which yeah it's really good but her main area I'd like to keep the vetfleece, but maybe velcro it down lol. Little monkeys.
