Very sadly we are looking for a new home for Himalayan Balsam (Himy for short).
He would be ideal as a house bun as he is very very intelligent and VERY clean!! - I believe he will bond strongly with a human he trusts, but he will need some confidence building.
Himy came to us about 6 months ago via another person who had got involved in a rescue of 6 buns, and did not have room for Himy as he was slightly older and his testicles had dropped so he could not be with the rest of the rescue group.
We had hopped that as he is relatively young that after neutering, vaccines and some socialisation he would bond with one of our groups. He did go into a group for s hort while but he ended up splitting the group up as he was so dominant.
Himy is a 'top dog' type bun, very intelligent and very lively, inquisitive, and generally a wonderful handful who will totally reward a long term housebun home.
He MAY bond with a single female to make a pair but this will need to be done with caution as he does seem to need to dominate - .however that may be just because he feels the need to be boss with so many other rabbit smells here. He is getting a little 'nippy' as he is currently frustrated with his situation.
Himy is male, under a year old, and totally perfect. About 1.8 kilos. Healthy. Has had all vaccines including new VHD2.
We are very sad to have to give him up but can see that he is getting frautsrated here and needs his own house and humans!
Please contact twigsway@me.com if you could possibly provide a forever home for Himy. We are based near peterborough but can travel.
